What is going on in the home business area?
Stuff that really irks me…
Thanks for dropping in!
Thanks! First, I just wanted to say thanks for sticking with me to this point. I know how it is trying to sort through all the scams, lies and deceit here on the net to find someone and some company that is real and here for the long term. I can assure you that I ONLY work with companies just like that. There are only one or two companies that I would put in this category.
Second, I wanted to alert you to some scams out there run by unscrupulous folks who are just there to take your money.
Turnkey Website Package: The biggest thing going on this year in the online home business area is the idea of buying a turnkey website that is set up to sell in a popular niche area (like weight loss). The sales copy is SOOOOO overwhelmingly good. It makes you think that once you send your <pick a number: $27, $77, $495, $1597 or $10,000> to the guru, he will have your award winning sales site up and running <variation: on Your domain> so you can start making sales immediately. I have checked out a dozen of these, bought 3 or 4 of them and they all do have great websites. The thing that is missing in each case (even if they told you they would do it for you) is TRAFFIC. Sending traffic to your new whiz-bang site is suddenly NOT their job… it becomes YOUR JOB. And you don’t know beans about sending targeted traffic to a high profile niche site.
So you are left holding a totally worthless piece of internet real estate until you can learn it on your own (or pay someone to do it for you.)
This really irks me. The basic sales process of Traffic –> Offer –> Sale –> Product delivery seems to have been lost on the sellers of these great sites. It’s like leaving you on the lake with a fishing pole and no bait. And they know it.
Surveys: The taking survey’s scam is back. The bad part is that the flaws (costs) are so well hidden that you might not even know you are getting fleeced. The typical scenario has you fill in an easy survey and opt in for more (for products or payment, lots of variations here.) But now, along the way to the next survey, you get presented with dozens of free and not-so-free offers which you MUST click on one or more of (or they keep sending you to more of them until you do.) Rather than go into it in a long-winded way here, just beware ALL of the survey offers you get that make you think you can make money with.
Guarantees: There are a few MLM companies that “Guarantee” your income or a money back guarantee or something along that line. Unfortunately, your income depends on your work in building your team. If many of these guarantee’s are actually executed, the company would not be able to stay in business. And if the company folds, who would be there to honor the guarantee? Caveat emtor (buyer beware) is the word of the day. If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is.
Guaranteed signups: We have proven over and over and over again that guaranteed signups … well, are not at all guaranteed … and don’ t really signup. Don’t fall for any company trying to sell you guaranteed signups in any company. (note: COOPs or Cooperative advertising is a different matter and rarely advertises as “Guaranteed”. )
Industry Watchdog: Rod Cook runs an excellent site highlighting MLM company shenanigans at http://www.mlmwatchdog.com/ A good one to keep in your favorites and check periodically. Rod is a HUGE fan of MLM and a HUGE hater of MLM scammers; those who use MLM to defraud and deceive. Rod used to have an email list but I have not seen anything from him in months.
MLM Scams: There are some MLM’s out there that just don’t have a complete bag of legal documents. Some are missing products (pyramid schemes), some have highly overpriced products, some misrepresent products (watch out if medical-miracle kind of claims are made on their sites or documents… or if individual distributors are making them and not being stopped by the company.) Some have no financial backing so any minor business downturn will send them under. And of course MOST do not have a marketing system (see basic sales process above.)
MLM Marketing Websites: Many companies will give you a ‘replicated site’ for free or for a fee. NONE that I have ever seen are worth anything for marketing though. You MUST have your own marketing site, traffic plan, email list, mentor team, etc. to be able to do it on your own. That is why having a marketing system WHEN you join a company makes sense.
Spin Success: There is a lady named Tabatha Grant // Rosalind Archer (one and the same perhaps) that promotes Spin Success heavily for whatever low-cost program of the day happens to be in vogue. She advertises dozens to hundreds of signups if you use her Spin Success service. Although the Spin Success website looks like a very comprehensive package for getting traffic to your site, it has yet to produce for anyone that I know of. Even Ms. Grant/Archer who speaks so highly of it has never shown up on the leaders boards in any company you see her promoting. Here is a current one she sent (4/28/10)
I get back up and continue testing until I find something that works “perfectly.”
I’ve found that in:
==> http://www.Spin-Success.net
Nothing converts better than the traffic they send. Seriously.

P.S. I’m off for breakfast, guess what I’m having? :)
Caveat Emptor.
(Notice that we provide a complete end-to-end marketing system for you that is YOURS… not mine or someone else’s or the company’s. The fact that you are reading this is testament to it working to bring us together, now isn’t it?)
Anyway, sorry for the rant but I really hate to see people scammed by folks who know better.
We are not here to scam you. Just to give you a solid business (of course) and the marketing system to build it with. And these professional blogs to present your case with (if you are not a writer, you can just copy these pages and change my info to yours of course.)
Conclusion: It is vital that you get substantial income streams going soon so you don’t become a victim of the business world.
