So you have build a list of subscribers who are interested in what you have to say. You’ve already given away plenty of quality information for free and now you’ve decided it’s time to make some money.
The obvious thing to do is promote affiliate product, but just what is the best way of going about it? In this post, David Walker offers you two profitable solutions…
Before You Promote
Firstly you want to make sure that the product you’re promoting is quality. The last thing you want to do is damage your rapport with your list by recommending a crappy product just to make money online.
Your relationship with your list could last a lifetime so only ever promote products to them that you feel are genuine value for money.
So once you have an affiliate product in mind how do you best go about promoting it?
1. Write / Record an Honest Review
If you’re promoting a physical product or software record a video of you using the product and showcase exactly what the product does.
By recording the product in use you’re instantly gaining the trust of your prospect because he/she is aware that you have actually purchased the product yourself and are not just some generic marketer pushing whatever the current flavour of the week is.
Highlight both the positives and negatives but focusing primary on the positives. Remember to explain how the product has solved a problem for you and how it could solve problems that others are facing.
By being completely open and transparent with your list in terms of positives and negatives, your list members are more likely to be able to make a conscious decision on the suitability of this product for them.
2. Offer A Bonus
Some affiliates offer buyers a bonus if they buy product through their affiliate link. This is particularly popular with high ticket items where the affiliate payment is high enough to justify offering a bonus to buyers but still being profitable.
A bonus could be anything from a free copy of one of your own e-books, to coaching, to physical money back (obviously a percentage of your affiliate payment).
The great thing is, as time goes on and you have created more products, you will be able to put together much more valuable bonuses!
In an ideal world you should try to offer a bonus that compliments the product you’re promoting. Always make sure that the bonus you’re offering, like the product you’re promoting, has genuine value to the customer.
By following one or both of these plans, you should be able to start selling to your list today.
